When sitting for extended periods, we often tend to protect the ischium area from pain by leaning on the pelvis as we sit; however, doing this puts a load on the lower back and causes pain. With Owl Comfy, EXGEL distributes the load that tends to concentrate in the ischium, making it less likely for pain to develop in that area. This enables sitting with an upright pelvis. Owl Comfy is recommended for those who need a soft seat. Hug Comfy, on the other hand, firmly supports the lower back, the sacral, and the pelvis. Hug Comfy is recommended for those who want their pelvis naturally upright when they sit.

Basically, a posture where you sit with your pelvis upright makes it hardest to put a load on the lower back. However, this also puts the most pressure on your ischium. When using an EXGEL cushion, the EXGEL gently cradles the ischium area and relieves pain so that you can sit for extended periods while making it difficult to put a load on the lower back. However, some people experience lower back pain and fatigue due to muscle or skin problems. This product is not guaranteed to reduce pain and fatigue in these situations or provide a therapeutic effect.

Basically you want to attach the cushion to a stable seat, but you can use it if there is no discomfort when sitting. Please note that EXGEL cushions are soft and may wrinkle or deform when used for extended periods.

You can use a cushion for the home in the passenger seat and back seat. When using one in the driver’s seat, be sure to check whether it hinders your vision or interferes with your operation of the pedals.

If it feels cold, wait for it to warm to the appropriate temperature. Do not heat the cushion with fire or high temperature heating appliances. When heating the cushion while it is on a heater, it may take time to heat as the EXGEL cushion conducts heat poorly. Be aware that placing a heater atop the EXGEL cushion to heat it may leave marks on the surface of the cushion.

For products with covers, if the cover is dirty you can place the cover in a net and wash it with a neutral detergent.

The cushion itself cannot be washed. Products without covers will use different fabrics. Please consult the user instructions for information.

The cushions are designed to reduce the load on the buttocks and the lower back. It will support your pelvis, but not correct it.

It can be used in general day-to-day temperature ranges. It will slowly harden in sub-zero temperatures, while it will slowly soften in high temperatures. Product quality may suffer in temperatures exceeding 80C°.

A feature of the EXGEL material is that it suffers little age-related deterioration. The life of the product will vary with usage frequency and so on. Judge the life of the product based on wear and tear to the covering and so on. Although there is no particular service life, causes of deterioration include UV rays and heat. Treat the product with care and you can enjoy long years of use.
